Crytek (the company behind the game with revolutionary graphics – Crysis, and the sequel Crysis: Warhead), has demonstrated some bits of it’s new engine in development at the “Game Developers Conference 2009″ – Cry Engine 3. It will run on PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360.
Crytek says that it will be even better than the already nearly-perfect CryEngine 2. There are numerous updates that the developers can take advantage of: clith simulations, a real time particle system, hundreds of light sources, real time dynamic global illumination, destructable environment, depth of field, motion blur, soft shadows, natural lighting and a lot more.
You can watch the demonstration itself below.
I can’t wait to see what games can Crytek make with this kind of realistic technology.
PS: For those of you who don’t know what kind of realism I am talking about, see this video from Crysis: Warhead.
