Posted by andy

IGN.com has put together a nice video, ordering the best games, th at have been shown

at the recent E3 game convention.

They are ordered in categories like “best shooter game”, “best action game” and so on.

My personal favorite is, of course, Modern Warfare 2.

Most Played PC Games for 2008Nielsen Wire has calculated the average time PC gamers spend on each computer game and ordered them in their annual most-played list. Here is the list of the most played PC games in 2008:

  1. World of Warcraft – It is no surprise that the game that is played by the whole world and is backed by the company (Blizzard) that earns more monthly profit, than the yearly budget of a small country in Africa, still tops the rankings.
  2. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare – Although another sequel has been released after Modern Warfare – Call of Duty: World at War – it seems that the fourth and not the fifth part from the Call of Duty series is on the top 10 most played games list.
  3. Halo: Combat Evolved – This is legend, no need to speak anything for it.
  4. The Sims – It is not unexpected seeing this game in the top list, mainly because of the innovative “gameplay” and social elements it involves.
  5. The Sims 2 – Combining the play times for the two parts from the Sims series will make the entry reach number 2 in this top list, but since both games are two separate, they are listed as separate entries, but this doesn’t hide the fact that they are two of the games that meet masses of gamers from all around the globe and brings them together.
  6. RuneScape – I never heard of this game, but it seems it’s quite popular in the online gaming community, mainly because of the fact that it’s Java based, meaning that it is played through the browser and doesn’t need anything to be downloaded (which makes it a good game to play at work or school during the breaks for example). Considering the fact that at

the time of this writing the RuneScape Site has over 150,000 active players online, it well makes it way to the sixth place in the top list.

  7. Diablo 2 – This is another legendary game that is remembered by almost all the old-school gamers.
  8. Team Fortress 2 – This is just fun to play. Building machinery and using different soldier classes perfects the experience even more, making Team Fortress 2 a worthy entry in the list of Nielsen Wire.
  9. Counter Strike – I can’t imagine the time when CS will be forgotten and not played anymore. I remember the time when I didn’t had a PC at home and a I was spending a good chunk of my childish day in the local computer club, being addicted to this unimaginably addicting, team-based, first-person-shooter by Valve.

  10. Counter Strike: Source – Adding realistic graphics and physics to the above surely makes the fans of the original Counter Strike come see the improvements.

It seems that games that have successfully claimed the title of “legends” are still here – Counter-Strike and World of Warcraft, as well as Halo. I can’t wait to see how will the chart for the most played PC games in 2009

will look like.

Having fun

is critical in playing video games. And blowing ugly faced mutated creatures heads is even more fun. In order to increase the fun, you must turn off the lights, banish everyone around you and turn on the speakers to it’s maximum. Now you are ready to scare to death everyone that gets closer than 100 feet to you. While zombie games are great, not all

are that good. This is the list that compiles my favorite zombie games on the market.

5. The game that, can be said, has started the survivor-horror genre is Alone in the Dark, which, even today, scares gamers like hell. To that contributes the great story line and the puzzle solving. Having said that, don’t think that you will be without company from terrifying creatures for long periods of time. Even 15 years this game still is in the top zombie game lists and it will never be forgotten.

4. House of the Dead 4 is the game that featured the best weapons in a zombie game. Most of the times you can blast multiple undead enemies with one bullet from your lovely shotgun. House of the Dead 4 puts an unique experience inside the gamers heads when playing, and it is one of the best modern-day zombie shooters.

3. There is a PC game that probably not much of you have heard of. It’s called They Hunger. However, it’s low popularity should confuse you, because it is a game that must not be ignored when it comes to mentioning the top zombie games. This game features great AI (unlike most other zombie games, where zombies are…well…zombies when it comes to killing you) and detailed graphics. You are missing a lot of good experience if you have not played this one.

2. If you have not heard of the DooM game series, you aren’t old enough in the gaming or you aren’t into gaming at all. DooM 1 is a legend that, some say, is not only one of the best zombie games, but also one of the best games ever. The game was the first to introduce the great experience of 3D gaming and BFG gaming. The DooM series are games that should not be missed at all costs.

1. The top game in our list is Dead Rising, which is for Xbox. It can be said that this game combines all the zombie movie ideas in a single game. There is a lot of tension and terror, that is likely only for the big-budget Hollywood productions. This game has great presentation, new movies and having a re-play value is the things that make this game the best zombie game ever.

I hope you enjoyed this list. If so, please share it with a friend or Stumble/Digg it.
